Stainless Steel BSP Threaded Union
A stainless steel union is a threaded fitting which allows the pipe work to be separated and reconnected without any horizontal movement in the pipe. It can be a standalone pipe fitting connecting two pieces of pipe, or an integral part of another fitting (such as a ball valve) which allows it to be separated. Threaded unions have male threads on both ends of the fitting which screw into female threads on either end of the connecting pipe.
They provide an easy way to connect two pipes without having to turn the pipes. Since they are made from three parts they have extra functionality compared to that of a regular coupling. This makes them very convenient to connect two Male NPT ends when turning each part is limited.
Key Features

- High-Pressure Capability: Suitable for high-pressure applications.
Description
A stainless steel BSP (British Standard Pipe) threaded union is a type of pipe fitting used to connect and disconnect two pipes or tubes in a piping system. Here’s its use and function:
Use
1. Piping Systems: BSP threaded unions are commonly used in piping systems to connect pipes or tubes in various industries, such as oil and gas, chemical processing, power generation, and water treatment.
2. High-Pressure Applications: Stainless steel BSP threaded unions are suitable for high-pressure applications due to their strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion.
3. Corrosive Environments: The stainless steel material provides excellent resistance to corrosion, making BSP threaded unions ideal for use in corrosive environments.
Function
1. Connection and Disconnection: BSP threaded unions enable quick and easy connection and disconnection of pipes or tubes, allowing for efficient maintenance, repair, and replacement.
2. Leak-Tight Seal: The union’s design provides a leak-tight seal, ensuring the integrity of the piping system and preventing fluid leaks.
3. Strength and Durability: Stainless steel BSP threaded unions offer high strength and durability, withstanding the rigors of various industrial applications.
Key Features
1. Stainless Steel Material: Resistant to corrosion, durable, and strong.
2. BSP Threaded Connection: Enables secure and reliable connection and disconnection.
3. Leak-Tight Seal: Prevents fluid leaks and ensures piping system integrity.
4. High-Pressure Capability: Suitable for high-pressure applications.
Installation and Usage
1. Cut and Prepare Pipes: Cut and prepare the pipes to be connected, ensuring they are clean and free of debris.
2. Assemble Union: Assemble the BSP threaded union, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Connect Pipes: Connect the pipes to the union, ensuring a secure and leak-tight seal.
4. Test and Inspect: Test and inspect the connection to ensure it is secure and leak-free.
In summary, stainless steel BSP threaded unions are versatile pipe fittings used in various piping systems, offering a reliable, leak-tight seal, and withstanding high pressures and corrosive environments.
